What is a roadmap?
A software roadmap is a strategic document that outlines a software project's vision, goals, and priorities over a specified timeline. It helps prioritize features and tasks and helps us schedule them for development and release. The roadmap is designed to be flexible, adapting to changing circumstances and new information, aiding in the strategic planning and evaluation of the project's success.
Why can't this request be completed as a standard feature request?
Your request concerns a shared component—A piece of BloomCU software multiple clients use.
Since updates to shared components can affect many users of BloomCU software, we must ensure compatibility with other sites. We prioritize updates using our roadmap because we have many requests and internal features in the queue. Our goal is to ensure that only things are added that:
1. Improve the user experience for all users
2. Are compatible with as many installs as possible
Can you give me an ETA on when this will be completed?
Unfortunately, at this time, we can not give you an ETA. Items are reviewed and re-prioritized regularly, and fixed dates on non-emergency releases are not possible. If your item is selected for development, our support team will give you a rough timeline once it has been added to a sprint.
Does having an item added to the roadmap guarantee it will be developed?
Unfortunately, not all items added to the roadmap will be approved for development. We review and consider all items for addition to the roadmap, but there are some cases where it is not practical to implement them. For example, changes to front-end features (such as new blocks or alternative functionality) are subject to UX testing before implementation, and some features are niche, or incompatible with the current theme/plugin.
If your item is selected for development, our support team will notify you once it has been added to a sprint.
Can I see the roadmap?
Currently, our roadmap is not public.
