What content is searchable in website search?

How Page Content is Indexed

  1. Title Indexing
The title of your page is indexed with the highest priority. Searches for exact or approximate matches to the title will be returned first.

  2. Content Block Indexing
The full text within your content blocks is indexed with second priority. Matches found in the content block copy—exact or approximate—are returned after title matches. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule:

    Exceptions to Content Block Indexing

    • Global (Clone) Blocks
Clone blocks are not indexed because their content isn't tied to a specific page in the CMS. Since these blocks are reused across multiple pages, they should contain general-purpose content meant for broad application.

    • Persona Blocks
Persona blocks are excluded from indexing for two reasons: they function like clone blocks and contain personalized content not visible to all users. This also applies to the default clone block used within persona setups.

    • Modals
Content inside modals is not indexed due to the potential for significantly increasing the size of the search index. Large indices can slow performance and introduce "noise," where irrelevant results might rank higher, especially with short or near-match search terms (e.g., misspellings or character transpositions).

By prioritizing specific content types and excluding others, the search index remains efficient and relevant.
